Possible to disable safari opening tech preview when operating vsphere

I'm a college student and my school uses vSphere. I am using an M1 mac mini and had downloaded VMware Fusion Tech Preview to be able to run virtual machines on it (obviously) which it works great for! Except for coursework I need to use either general VM's, or established ones through vSphere (ones the IT department sets up).

So I started trying to do my assignments in vSphere which this class needs, and when trying to launch the remote console the tech preview doesn't have support for it, and obviously, there is no remote console support yet for apple silicon.

The surprising issue though is when I try to launch the web console, I still get a popup asking whether I want to allow the page to open tech preview, doing so makes it tell me it doesn't support opening vmrc URLs, and hitting cancel just goes back. From my memory of my old mac mini (intel based) when I've done this work before, launching a web console would just open it in my web browser no?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I could probably get away with simply doing a VM machine through the tech preview then opening the page in there but that feels like it'll be aggravating operating two levels deep in VM's (OS inception anyone)

I don’t have an Apple M1 processor Mac but I think there is a VMRC that runs natively on M1 CPU.

I haven’t done this in a long time; but with Windows hosts, one could choose whether to open a VM running on ESXi/vSphere host using either Workstation Pro (equivalent to Fusion Pro) or VMRC when both are installed on the same host. With a Firefox browser you can choose what the default is (Workstation or VMRC). So it might be the same or similar case with Safari browser if you have both the Fusion Tech Preview and VMRC installed on the same machine). The release notes still mentions that VMRC and Workstation Pro cannot be installed on the same machine if host OS Linux; but I have no idea if it will be an issue for VMRC and Fusion Tech Preview to be installed on the same macOS host.

Oh my god, I'm silly. I believe I deleted the remote console application when I was having issues with getting fusion to work. I just reinstalled it and I was able to open it right up *facepalm*

The remote console app works and runs great, thank you so much for your help!
