Plans for OpenGL support for guests on MacOS host after Apple deprecates OpenGL

Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right platform, but I'm curious / concerned about what will happen to OpenGL support for Windows guests in on a MacOS host after Apple pulls the trigger and completely stops supporting OpenGL.

I think the current driver just passes all guest OpenGL commands to the host drivers. It seems that approach wil no longer work then.

Is there anything I can read about the plans for that future? Will OpenGL support stop working on MacOS hosts too?

Hi,

If it works now.. then I think you're fine.

The openGL renderer has already been removed.

See this thread: https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Fusion-Discussions/VM-crashes-upon-graphics-mode-switching/... for details.
