Orange dots on display and new logic board - restore?

I have been getting intermittent swarms of dots on my iMAC 24 Intel Core 2 duo (new).

Mostly in the VM, but sometimes in the Host - picture attached.. Apple is going to replace the logic board and I would like to if I will need to go through some kind of procedure if the Windows side has issues with the new hardware.?

I have a full backup of the VM (12GB) on an external HFS+ formatted USB drive. Maybe there will not be any problem, but I wanted to be prepared.

No, you shouldn't have to do anything.

Just make a backup of the whole system (OS X and all) before your Mac goes anywhere. I always take a disk image of the system before I have a machine go anywhere for service.
