Hi Everyone,
Apple's just released 10.6.3 to the public, and it has a number of bug fixes and performance improvements.
It also opens new functionality to developers, which we've already taken advantage of in Fusion 3 (and more so in Fusion 3.1).
So, everyone should notice a performance increase if they upgrade their Host Mac to 10.6.3.
Much work has been put into OpenGL, so I encourage anyone experiencing weird anomalies or poor performance to update to 10.6.3 and see what sort of a difference it makes.
Since I upgraded to OSX 10.6.3, I don't seem to be able to access the internet via the VM virtual machine. I get an error message that the network connection is not available. Presumably the share computer network setting is not working anymore. What do I have to do to regain connectivity?
I can confirm that my Win7 business graphics score jumped 2 full points, and the memory score jumped a full point.
A very noticable difference.
FWIW though, 10.6.3 overrides custom monitor profiles - make sure you reset them if you've calibrated your monitor.
You probably just need to remove and re-add the network adapter from the Virtual Machine > Settings > Network (click the '-' to remove and the '+' to add a new one).
Thanks for the tip about the monitor... I hadn't come across the issue, but it's good to know 😃
FWIW, my overall Windows Experience Index increased from 4.1 to 4.4, previously constrained by gaming performance but now constrained by the processor.
I have the same issue, did you solve the network problem?
