Now that Parallels Desktop 4 has been released - can anyone give a comparison?

Hi all,

Parallels Desktop 4 has been released (http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/). Has anyone had a chance to compare it to Fusion 2? I tried fusion 2 a little while ago and found it hammered my nearly-new iMac something chronic and so was reluctant to purchase it until I could see how Parallels 4 went (PD3 was fine for me). So far, my trial of Parallels 4 (upgrade a PD3 Boot Camp vm) wasn't particularly smooth, nor the performance stellar, but I can't say any worse than when I tried Fusion 2.

What do people think of it? They are having some fairly major teething problems - but so did/does Fusion 2.

Thanks guys.

Both work quite well here, but I haven't done any rigorous comparisons. My serious benchmark (Dragon Naturallyspeaking) seems to work a bit better in VMware Fusion 2 than P4, but this isn't totally clear yet. The P4 imported a Fusion VM and it worked flawlessly. But nothing in P4 so far makes me interested in switching from Fusion.
