Hello, I am trying to connect to the internet via Windows 7 VM but I am not able acces the internet. It says that all the connections are established ie Local Area Connections. I have internet access in other VM's but not windows 7. Any suggestions to what the problem might be?
Folow the steps in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Change-TCP-IP-settings to change the IPv4 settings.

To help figure out what is what, the best way to provide comprehensive diagnostic information is to use the "Collect Support Information" command from the VMware Fusion (menu bar) > Help > Collect Support Information and then attach the .tgz file it created on your Desktop to a reply post.
I tried inputting this line
ethernet0.virtualDEV = "e1000"
into the .vmx file but there is one already. Help with this please?
What's the output of ipconfig /all in the Windows 7 VM?
André
I dont know, where would i find that information?
Power on the WIndows 7 VM, open a "Command Prompt" and enter the command ipconfig /all. This will return the current network configuration for the VM.
André
So i did that but idk what exactly I should respond with? What should i look for after doing this?
It would be helpful if you could copy&paste the command's output to your next reply post to see whether the settings are correct for the NAT network (vmnet8 - 172.16.94.x). Btw. did you manually reconfigure the NAT subnet?

Here are the settings:
The issue seems to be caused by the first gateway address (0.0.0.0). Do you have any applications installed on this VM (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite)?
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0172.16.94.2To see whether this really is the issue, try to configure static IP settings for the VM.
IP address: 172.16.94.100 (assuming this is a free IP address)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 172.16.94.2
DNS Server: 172.16.94.2

I have Photoshop installed. Where would I find the Static IP Settings for the VM?
Folow the steps in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Change-TCP-IP-settings to change the IPv4 settings.
André
I did that. Then whats next?
Are you able to access the Internet now? If not run ipconfig /all again and post the output.
From what I read, the issue is caused by the "Bonjour" service installed by the Adobe software. However this may only occur with older software versions.
André
No i wasnot able to access the internet
Here are the settings below:
According to the output, you did not configure the static IP settings. They are still configured as automatic!?
And yes, CS3 is known to cause this issue. You will get a lot of hits when you google for it.
André
It looks like you haven't set a Static IP Address, etc., based on the last output if ipconfig. Does the TCP/IP Properties dialog box look as in the image below or does it have set info?
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : YesAutoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
I did exactly as you said but i restared the VM and i have connection to the internet. If it goes again I will post here once more.
Thank you for your help. Appreciated
I ticked the box with the DNS Server since it was not ticked before, so maybe that made it work.
