Need help to get a Personal License for VMWare 10

Hi folks.

I'm a registered user at VMWare and I can't get a valid Personal Use license for VMWare Fusion Player 10 for macOS.

I followed the steps mentioned here:

https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Fusion-Discussions/How-do-I-request-a-free-license-key/td-p...

And I got a VMWare Fusion Player 12.2.4 for Intel-Mac valid license for Personal Use as you can see here:

The problem is, I have an iMac 12,2 MC 812 using High Sierra 10.13.6 which I can't upgrade to 10.14, 10.15 or whatever.

I can't install VMWare Fusion, neither its version 12.X, nor 11.X in High Sierra, as its installer wizard says them require macOS 10.14 or earlier:

I can't click on the "Continue" button, as it's disabled.

And if I click on the "Buy" button, it leads me to:

Where I can't apply for a Personal Use license for version 10:

And that's about it.

Do you know whether there's any way to get a free license for personal use for version 10?

Thanks and best regards.

Pablo

Well, in the end, it was solved by using an Internet search engine.

As I needed something for non-commercial, and personal use, I had to type that phrase in google, remove "I have a", click on search, and got whatever was needed to get that green tick.

Short answer, no.  The free Player license began with version 12.  So the only way to get a license for earlier than 12 is to purchase one.  Currently, can only purchase current version (13) license, then downgrade it to get a serial for an older version.  Online you can downgrade only 1 level, from 13 to 12.  If you need to go earlier, you need to contact sales.

Although from other recent posts here, you should be able to run a version of 11 on High Sierra.

Hi RDPetruska

Thank you for your answer. I downloaded and installed VMWare Fusion 11.0.0 and certainly, it didn't accept a license for version 12.

Do you think there would be any chance or link to contact sales or another department to downgrade 1 level, from 12 to 11.0.0?

Once again, thank you for your feedback.

Best regards.

Pablo

There is no free license for 11.  You'll have to purchase one and then downgrade it.

@Pablo_Cesar

Do you mean you obtained a licence key for Fusion 11 which you did not pay for?

If so, that would be illegal.

As others have mentioned, there was no "free for personal use" concept for Fusion 11 or older.

That sounds like an illegal stolen license key.

Google recommended me to buy a legal licence. I bought it and got that green tick.

You might have paid some money to someone, the legality of the license and key is questionable.

Yup, because no one legally sells Fusion 11 licenses anymore.

Check your credit card bill and watch for fraud.
