Hi gents,
received this error "xxx...is not a valid virtual machine configuration file" and now the VM cannot be started up. Please help as I have crucial information on this VM. Appreciate all the help in advance!
VM fusion 6.x running on Mac OSX 10.7.5
VM : WIndows XP Pro
The log files unfortunately don't contain helpful information.
To help figure out what is what, the best way to provide comprehensive diagnostic information is to use the "Collect Support Information" command from the VMware Fusion (menu bar) > Help > Collect Support Information and then attach the .zip file (or .tgz file if pre-version 6) it created on your Desktop to a reply post.
Note: Use the "Use advanced editor" link in the upper right corner of the normal reply window to bring up the Advanced Editor where you'll be able to attach files via the Choose File button or Browse button (depending on the Browser) above the Post Message button!

Because you're using a illegally distributed copy of Windows XP as shown by 'ide1:0.fileName = "/Volumes/3TB/Torrents/Windows XP Pro 32-Bit SP3 10-20-2008 Activated/XP DISK IMAGE.iso"' in the vmware.log file help may not be provided as it would violate the VMware Community Terms of Use as helping you with illicit activity is not allowed!
