Download of VMFusion. When I try to open VM, I get error code: "failed to connect to peer process" and VM wont open.
Any solution would be appreciated.
Thx
Ted
Could you post some additional details? Information about your machine (especially MacOS version) would be extremely helpful.
There was a post that had a similar symptom to yours. That problem occurred after Alsoft's DiskWarrior was used on a Leopard (10.5) startup disk to repair permissions. More info would enable us to see if you're running into the same thing, or if something else is wrong.
Sounds like you may be running into a similar issue as in this thread:
http://communities.vmware.com/message/822014
It seems that it sometimes happens with upgrades from Fusion 1.0 to 1.1.
Could you try following the steps posted by MandarMS in that thread to remove/reinstall Fusion?

excuse my ignorance but where is the "Terminal"?
Terminal can be found in /Applications/Utilities.
I'm assuming you're trying to run the "sudo "/Library/Application\ Support/VMware Fusion/boot.sh" --restart" command suggested by MandarMS...
If that doesn't help, follow his second reply (with multiple steps) to uninstall Fusion. Note that disconnecting the network is probably unnecessary, just reinstall Fusion after step 2.
Also, just to be clear, the paths like "/Library/..." mean the system Library folder on the OS X hard drive, and "~/Library" means the Library folder inside of your user home.
thats exactly what im going to do
how do i enter the command in terminal?
ted
how do i enter the command in terminal?
You can type commands or copy & paste text into the Terminal.
For this command, it's probably easier to copy and paste. I noticed that there's an extra backslash in the command, so it probably won't work correctly. Here is the correct one:
sudo "/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/boot.sh" --restart
did that but wont let me type my password?
did that but wont let me type my password?
You have to click into the Terminal window and when you type nothing is displayed. Just type your password and press enter.
it worked!
thx
you guys are the greatest!
