My VMware Fusion7 does not want to install Windows 8.1

Hi

Please allow me to ask basic question.

I recently purchased Fusion 7 by online and Windows 8.1 by disk. I was able to install Fusion 7 but while I was trying to install Windows I noticed that "Create a Virtual Machine" did not find the Windows disk by itself.

Then I selected "More options"

This menu does not find the Windows disk...

Then I chose "Use another disc or disc image"

It does find the Windows disk but I don't know what I should do from here...

Please help me.

Thank you very much.

Is this a real, full license of Windows 8.1 Retail?

Hi Dlhotka

Yes, I bought this from Microsoft directly.

Thats strange. Fusion 7 does support Windows 8.1 and I have already installed and been using Windows 8.1 VM every now and then. Hence I believe the disk is at fault.

Using Disk utility, create a cdr image and then use that to install Windows. If this method also fails, then its possible that the disk might have been damaged or is not a bootable disk .

For details refer
