Multicore JAVA refuses to run in Fusion11. In Fusion10 no problems

Hi all,

I have an issue running multicore java applications on my Fusion11.0.1

Fusion is still running on High Sierra 10.13.6

The guest OS is Windows 10 Pro 1803

All drivers in the VMware tools are reinstalled.

The hardware version in the VM Settings is also updated to v16...

In windows itself the Task Manager shows 4 processors available.

If I startup my Java/C application it will kind of time out and tell me the parent could not be started. Then it starts in single core mode. In this mode it says:

Loading libraries for Windows 10 (x86)

Physical Memory: 8GB

JVM MaxHeapSize: 0,5GB

JVM Memory: 0,12GB (curr.total)  0,48GB (max.limit)

Requested 'multiproc=4' but this platform does not support multi-core

I still need to upgrade to Mojave, but I am afraid I have to roll back everything afterwards..

Yesterday, with Fusion 10 this was not an issue... What can it be?

Thanks, Charly

Hi Shan,

i found the issue.

After rolling back to V10 and the issue was still there, I noticed the software i tried to start on the VM had the bug... Not the VM itself. Now I am running V11 and the multicore java without issues.

Sorry for your precious time and thanks four your help.

Best regards, Charly

Hi Charly,

Could you attach the support bundle if convenient?

To collect the support info, please launch Fusion, select the menu Help -> Collect Support Information.

Regards,

Shan

Hi Shan,

I attached the requested data...

It says it is too big... 65Mb.. Can I upload it somewhere else?

Hi Shan,

it seemed the system log was too big. So I got it out and removed all information from before the last reboot. I attached the rest separately.  Now the size fits...

Also some non related VMs I removed..

Hope this helps,

Charly

Hi Charly,

I've forwarded it to team for investigation.

Could you downgrade the Hardware version to 14 then check if it still happen?

Power off VM first, then open Settings -> Compatibility. In Advanced options, change Use Hardware Version to 14, click Apply button.
