Mouse "clicks" whatever I hover over even when I don't click

I am running VMWare Fusion on a MacBook Pro. VMWare is up to date, as is the MAC OS.

When I just hover over something (like a pinned icon at the bottom of the screen), it launches - it is as if I have clicked twice. I have not touched the button on the mouse (Magic Mouse). It is so Annoying!!!! I want to throw my machine away or buy Parallels.

Please please please help. I have looked in the manuals, and in my Mac mouse settings and my Windows mouse settings, but without any joy.

You wouldn't happen to have Smart Scroll installed, would you?

Yup. I bet that is the problem. I think I can turn it off on an application by application basis.
