@Mikero made some comments that I construed as saying that while shared folders for Windows 11 ARM were not in the 2023 Tech Preview, they were being worked on for the final release. It was a bit of a surprise to find that they didn't make it. Any comments from VMware as to why and when we might expect them.
It's also a surprise that a) thinprint was removed from this release, and b) no replacement was offered.
Yes, there are workarounds to both but... We're ohhhh.... so..... close... to having feature parity with both Fusion on Intel Macs and Parallels... Seems like we pulled up short at the goal line once again.
Agree on shared folders, but thinprint, well, I almost understand that. With wireless printing being so common, it's relatively painless to simply create a printer inside the VM's these days.
I understand the decision on ThinPrint as well. My point is it was a surprise and they should have documented alternatives.
You're right that with wireless/network printing as long as you're on a bridged network it's pretty much a non-issue. It's the situations where you have NAT networking that are a little more, shall we say, interesting.
The background process notification bug is still there - while not critical, it's a constant reminder that Fusion is using depreciated methods to launch processes.
