I have a VM running WIN 8 and I need to create one running WIN 10.
Can I use the "Migrate your PC…" menu option to move everything on the old VM to the new one so that I won't have to reinstall software?
If not, is there a way to do this?
I have to create a new VM instead of upgrading because it's a company install and has to have all of the IT Dept's extra stuff in it.
Thanks
A virtual machine, to your host computer, is just a (set of) files. Keep your existing one, and make a copy of it to use to upgrade to Windows 10.
Thanks.
As I said, I cannot do an upgrade. The WIN10 VM has to be a new, "fresh" install.
Hi,

It's Windows, AFAICT you have to reinstall all your software.
I tried Microsoft's "Migrate your PC" option in the past a few times and it was so bad I don't even bother with that anymore.

Thanks for your reply. That's pretty much what I'm afraid of.
