Microsofts free vm's for testing ie won't work in vmware fusion.

At the link below there are free windows 7,8,10 vm's for testing different versions of internet explorer.

I cannot get these to work in vmware fusion because after importing they have no internet connection.

The internet control panel does not even show up and is not listed under devices when the vm imports.

Could someone explain why these don't work with vmware fusion?

Hi whimsica,

Welcome to Fusion community.

For your problem, I noticed that there is no virtual Network Adapter for the imported VM. You can add it yourself by shutting down the VM, and then click Virtual Machine -> Settings -> Add Device... -> Network Adapter -> Add, then power on your VM.

Hope that helpful. Smiley Happy

Hi whimsical,

Suggest you replace the IE11-Win7.ovf file in your uncompressed folder with my attached ovf file, and remove the .mf file. Because in the original OVF file, no Network related info.

Then you can import the vm and a network adapter will be added.

Hope helpful~
