Microphone does not work with Catalina 10.15.6 host and Debian 10 VM

I've been doing Macs, Linux and VMs via Fusion / VMWare for some years. I just can't get the microphone on my 2020 13 inch MacBook Pro work with Debian in Fusion.

It's all turned on and connected. The VMWare tools supplied with Fusion have been installed (NOT open-vm-tools). But it just doesn't work. macOS and Debian setting dialog screen shots below.

Any ideas?

Hi Cyberspice,

Can you check the System Preferences=>Security&Privacy=>Privacy=>Microphone, and confirm if the VMware Fusion is already in the list?
