MacOS Sierra Guest, won't display power status

  • Using Fusion 8.5.7, MacOS Sierra host, MacOS Sierra guest.
  • Ticked Settings -> Advanced -> Pass power status to VM checkbox.
  • Shut down and restarted both the host and the guest.

But... the battery status didn't show in the menu bar.

  • Next, went to System Preferences and searched for "battery". Got "Show battery status in menu bar", highlighting Energy Saver.
  • Went to Energy Saver to check the Show... box - but it wasn't there!

I have options for scheduling Computer and Display sleep, sleeping hard disk, and waking for ethernet access. However, the tabs for Battery and Power Adapter are missing, and the checkbox to "Show battery status in menu bar" is missing. The host has these options.

Aaahhh!!! How can I get my battery status to display in my MacOS Sierra guest's menu bar???

Hi lisfolks,

Currently option 'Pass power status to VM' works only with Windows guest and Ubuntu guest. But we will consider your requirement as a feature request.

Surprised this isn't already available in Mac guests!  :smileyshocked:

Thanks for adding it as a feature request, though, @RickShu! I will be waiting (im)patiently for its arrival.
