When will this be fixed? I'm unable to use the software on my laptop and to continue production of files.
The screen turns black when Fusion launches and cannot open any files.

Thanks for this! It worked like a charm. I had upgrade from Majove to Catalina and am still on vmware fusion 8.5.10. I tried some of the other solutions but none of them worked. This did the trick.
Fusion 8.5 isn't supported - or compatible with Catalina. Strongly recommend upgrading to a supported version. If not, make sure you have a good (non-time machine) backup strategy in place.
