MAC OS X Yosemite 10.10.5, FUSION upgrade from 7 to 8.0.2 and my Windows 10 Virtual Machine loses Display settings and now the display is quite bad!

Hello,

I already tried almost all configurations possible! I don't find a way to get my Windows 10 to have the beautiful display he had while on Fusion 7!

Does anyone had this same issue?

Thanks for the Help!

Nuno

Hi,

It seems my directions are not clear.

I did not mean you to uninstall VMware Fusion, but to uninstall VMware Tools.

In Windows, go to Control Panel -> Programs & Features -> Select VMware Tools -> Uninstall

Follow the steps from the installer to completely uninstall VMware Tools

Reboot the guest (==Windows)

Then from the Virtual Machine menu select "Install VMware Tools"

If no installer appears, go to the DVD-rom within windows and click "setup" (for 32 bits windows) or "setup64" (for 64 bits windows)

Reboot the guest when done installing (it will ask by itself to reboot)

Hello,

Welcome at the VMware community forum.

These type of issues are almost always due to a broken VMware Tools install.

Do not try a repair install from within the OS as it likely will not fix this.

Instead follow these steps:

  • Uninstall VMware Tools
  • Reboot guest OS
  • Install VMware Tools
  • Reboot guest OS.

Uninstall - move VMWare Fusion into Trash and empty trash

Rebooted

Install VMWare Fusion - strange... did not ask for serial number and VMs were recognized and available... did I uninstalled? (well I did it twice with same result)

Rebooted

Windows 10 still with very bad graphics quality... compared to previous Fusion 7!

Thanks for your help but it did not fix the issue!
