I know VMware cannot comment on unreleased versions of OS-X. I am a developer and have run into some issues as of today and would like to post so people know about it
After upgrading to 11C62 this morning, my Windows 7 VM's both 32 and 64 bit would not boot. I would get to the login screen and after entering my password the machines would power off. I installed a clean copy of Windows 7 and it did the same thing.
The workaround i found was to disable 3D acceleration and I was then able to login.
My problem now is I have no networking in ANY of my VM's, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows 2003
I have tried NAT and BRIDGED mode, nothing, keeps saying network cable is unplugged. I always use NIC 2 on my Mac Pro for my VM's however everything i try and tell it to use NIC 2 in Bridged or NAT, it keeps going back to auto detect.
Does anyone have any ideas how i can get my networking back again? All other builds have worked just fine.
Any help would be appreciated
Can you try this command in terminal:
sudo /Applications/VMware\ Fusion.app/Contents/Library/services.sh --start
And also please try update to fusion 4.0.2, VMware Fusion 4.0.2 addresses an issue starting virtual machines running a forthcoming version of Mac OS X Lion.
Hope it helps.
I did that, it didn't work.
W7 will continue to crash as long as "Accelerate 3D Graphics" is enabled for me. I have the same specs as the OP here.
This is a known issue. Please see our response on this thread: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1835260#1835260
