Launch Applications Window behavior

One issue that is maddening is that the search text box does not select ALL text when returning to the Launch Applications window.

Currently, one must select ALL text before beginning a new application search. I know there are many ways to do this (I use CMD-A) but it would make using the Launch Applications feature much quicker and more enjoyable if the text were auto-selected upon return. One would simply begin typing a new search.

I just learned that you can use the esc key to clear the search box. This is a little better, but I would still like to see the text automatically selected when returning to the Launch Applications window.
