Installing Fusion 13.0.2 on M2 Mac running Ventura

I tried to install Fusion 13.0.2 on my M2 Mac mini running Ventura. The install appears terminate early (without error). When I go to my applications folder there is a Fusion icon there and when I try and run it I get the error:

"You can't open the application "VMware Fusion" because this application is not supported on this Mac"

All the information I can find would seem to indicate that this should be a supported configuration.

Any idea what the issue is?

Try a complete manual uninstall using the procedures in KB article https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1017838 making sure you get all the files in both

  • /Library (the Library folder found immediately under your hard drive)

and

  • ~/Library (the “hidden” Library folder found in your account’s home folder).

then reinstall Fusion.

If you are running any AV software, disable it before installing Fusion.

Three things:

1) Make sure you're installing as an admin user, and don't have corporate MDM software running

2) Make sure it's not a case sensitive file system

3) Redownload the installer direct from the VMWare site.  Drag the partial install to the trash, empty trash, reboot, then open the disk image.  Double click and run the installer again.

Thanks for the suggestions. I confirmed all three. I still have the same issue.

Fully uninstalling by manually deleting the files in ~/Library and then reinstalling solved it. Thanks for the help!
