Import of XP Pro VM from Parallels 12

I'm trying to migrate from Parallels to VMWare Fusion.  I have been able to import Windows 7 and Linux VMs to VMWare Fusion 10.1.3 using the built in import tool.  However when I try to do the same with a Windows XP Pro VP the import completes correctly but when trying to boot the VM I get a BSOD with a 7B STOP code.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Andrew

First, copy the parallels vm.  Then in the copy uninstall all the parallels tools, and try migrating after they're gone.

Already tried this with no success.  Same BSOD error.

Hmmm.... a brute force method that might work is to use the VMWare converter inside the parallels VM to create a new Fusion VM on a USB drive (attached to that VM).

That means that the VM does not use the appropriate mass-storage driver.
Reconfigure the VM so that it use "buslogic" and then run the VMware Converter "configure machine" option against the existingVM.
