Just updated from 8.0.1 to 8.1.
Now, the image of the virtual machine that displays in the Virtual Machine Library window no longer updates.
Is this a known problem with 8.1?
Thanks
I tried this again and noted that the problem occurs depending upon which of my two monitors I place the Virtual Machine Library Window. And it happens on two different computers I use. If I place it on my main 27" iMac, it refreshes correctly to mirror the pc screens. But if I place it on my second monitor, I 30" connected to the iMac with a display port connection, then the Library Window does not refresh. This was never a problem until 8.1, so I think it has to be a bug in 8.1.
No responses yet. I'm surprised. I thought the VMWare folks followed these discussions.
OK. So to fix this I guess I can install the earlier 8.0.1 over 8.1. But how do I bring by machine and it's tools to the earlier version? Can I uninstall the current tools and then let 8.0.1 reinstall the tools for that version?
Thanks.

Thanks so much for the reply. I'll look at thread.
As wila pointed out, this is a known issue ... but on the Forums only. For what it is worth, I could not get VMware to acknowledge it when I raised it as a support bug. They claimed that they could not replicate it. I pointed them to the thread that I had started.
This is a feature that I relied on quite a bit, since I run virtual machines in their own full-screen spaces. I miss it.
I urge others to open a support issue with VMware - hopefully that will help VMware to acknowledge the bug. Thanks.
The tech support person I have been talking to finally reproduced this bug.
Now the question is when will it be fixed. I just have this feeling that after waiting months to get the bug acknowledged, we will be waiting months to see if fixed.
I sent in all the information they requested in order to fix this issue. But VMWare has now stopped communicating with me.
The support from this company is the worst I have ever seen. This lack of refresh is a serious problem for me and the way I work. I now have to go through the trouble of reverting back to 8.0.1, removing the tools from my virtual machine, etc., as I have no idea if this company will take this issue seriously and fix it in the next decade. What a waste of my time!
Still no response from the tech support person I've been dealing with on this issue despite my repeated email to him.
This issue is VMware Support Request 16912661103.
Unless absolutely required, this company will NEVER, EVER see another penny from me. I just hate being dependent upon this company to do my job without having to purchase a PC.
Shame on VMWare.
