I don't have a battery indicator in Win 8 Dev preview 1... is that normal?

I am using a 2013 MBA running latest fusion and there is no battery indicator in the classic view of windows 8.1 dev preview. is that normal? i am running windows in full screen, and would like to be able to check my battery status without doing anything. thx!

Actually, there's an option for that.

See Show the Mac Power Supply Status in the Virtual Machine in the VMware Fusion documentation.

julienvarela  and planninggcig,

I do not think you have the correct understanding.

The Power/battery status might be passed to VM with the steps below.

1. Go to VM > Settings > Advanced

2.  checked "Pass power status to VM"

3.  relaunch your VM which will be shown on the right-bottom of taskbar.

yet doing that (passing power state to windows) does nothing good for me. I still don't see anywhere what the level of my battery is. in device manager, there is a ms battery device from 2006, but nothing in the dock tray. So do i have to install a widget or something like that? and if so, anyone know a good one? I don't trust any of the stuff you see if you google battery widget. Well, thx all for your help!

After a few reboots, I now get it! thx all, all is well...
