Hi,
I am having problems getting the hash symbol using a mac keyboard on dreamweaver cs4 (windows version under VM Ware fusion)
Can this be resolved as it works fine in pages on the mac osx. (keyboard short cut is alt-3)
Help appreciated.
Thank you,
Kirk
What language/keyboard are you using? For me, the hash symbol is shift-3.
Hi Koi,
Keyboard language is uk.
It works fine on my mac but when trying to use it under windows 7 in VM ware fusion it does not.
It is a pain because I still have the windows version of Adobe CS4 which has dreamweaver which is where I want to use the hash key #. (can't afford to upgrade to mac version yet)
Wondered if there was a fix whilst using vm ware fusion.
Thank you,
Kirk
Try cmd-\ (press and hold cmd key, and hit backslash, next to return key).
I'm typing this in a Win10 VM on a UK MacBook right now and it works for me, look: ############

Hi kirk59,
Within the Windows VM, you should check the keyboard layout.
Start button -> control panel -> change input methods -> check the keyboard layout and change it if needed.
Probably the layout is wrong or there are more then one layouts available.
If more then one layout available, it's recommended to remove the ones you don't use.
Kind Regards
Incase someone is coming here late ... I had the same problem and found the required key combo.
(VMFusion running Bootcamp Windows 10 on MacBook Pro (2017))
On Mac > ALT+3 = #
On Windows > CTRL+ALT+3 = #
(Also, make sure in Windows, Control Panel, Change Input Methods that your Keyboard is set to "United Kingdom (Apple)" )
@Rivercool The problem is exacerbated further when using Mac > VM with Windows 2012 RC2 > Visual Studio. cmd-\ then is only way. It may also depend on keyboard mappings defined/and keyboard mapping selected.
Cmd-\ (command backslash) combination works for me on my MacBook Pro 2017 with Fusion 8.5.9 running Windows 10. Thanks Rob#
cmd-\ works on Apple silicon Fusion Player and Windows 11 Pro for ARM too.
