How do I install MacOS Virtual Machine in Fusion 13?

Hi folks, trying to install a MacOS 13 Ventura virtual machine on MacOS Ventura. I select the "Install macOS Ventura.app" file, but then get presented with the "Choose operating system" screen where MacOS isn't an option… Any OS I choose here, starting the VM doesn't work and just hangs on boot. Previously, it correctly detected MacOS and proceed to the next screen. Is this a bug or is there a workaround? Cheers!

Given you are seeing these prompts from Fusion, it appears that you are trying to virtualize macOS on an Apple Silicon (M1/M2) Mac.

You might want to look at the Unofficial Fusion 13 for Apple Silicon Companion Guide https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Fusion-Documents/The-Unofficial-Fusion-13-for-Apple-Silicon... (referenced ad nauseam in this form), the VMware Fusion 13 documentation. or the VMware guest compatibility lists.

Fusion 13 on M1/M2 Macs does not support virtualization of ANY macOS version. The Companion document lists some alternatives (including *free* options that don't require you to pay a dime or euro to Parallels) if you need macOS virtualization on Apple Silicon.
