How do I import my parallels VM into FUSION?

How do I import my parallels VM into FUSION?

I am running Parallels 3.0 and I have been unable to get a Windows XP install disk to load via optical drive. My best bet is to use the Fusion importer to convert the Parallels Win XP VM into FUSION.

How does it work? Do I just drag my Aarallels .HDD file into the Fusion coversion utility?

How well does this process work?

Dear eTung,

I thanks for that link... but I am unsure what is in the folder that was dragged into the conversion utility or where I should look for that folder... would you have any Idea?

Thanks

Just open Finder, then drag/drop the entire Parallels VM's folder into the Importer's window. The Importer will hunt though it to find the .pvs file, and parse it to find the virtual hard disk, memory settings, and everything else.

You can also open up the Parallels folder and drag just the .pvs file into the Importer, but that's always seemed like extra work to me.

If you go through the File|Open route on the menus, it wants you to go to the .pvs file.

Not anymore! On my 10.5.2 machine I get the message that the Parallels machine is Running or paused, which it isn't.

Used to work, not anymore.

EDIT:solved via this thread

I had the same problem but solved it by cloning the hard disk in Parallels and then importing the clone. This worked without any problems.
