How do I hide SOME (not all) systray icons in Unity?

Is there a way to hide certain systray icons in Unity? While in Windows, I can choose which systray icons to hide and which ones to show, however, in Unity I only have the option to show all, or show none. The all or nothing approach isn't ideal. Is there a way to pick which icons are shown?

Hi,

Which systray icons do you mean?
Could you share the screenshot.

There are some documentations on windows taskbar & system tray in VMware Fusion, below are the links hope this helps:

VMware KB: Using Unity with the Windows system tray in Fusion

VMware KB: Modifying the VMware Fusion menu bar item

VMware Fusion Documentation Center

Thanks,

I used the "Notification Area Icons" control panel item to set which icons I'd like to see in the systray.

This is what the Windows systray looks like. I only have the icons I need visible here. This is the only icon I'd like to be visible in the Mac Menu bar.

Fusion does not respect the settings that I entered in the "Notification Area Icons" and instead clutters my menu bar with icons that I do not wish to see.

The links you shared do not explain how to hide some of the systray icons. The first link only explains how to show all of the systray icons, or hide all of the systray icons.

Yes, it would be great if Fusion respected the windows "Hide icons and notifications" and even better also the "Only show notifications" taskbar icon options.
