How can I start VMware fusion 7 trial version with my vmx and vmdk file?

Dear Experts,

My PC is OSX 10.10.2.

My VM is fusion 7 trial version.

I created below vmdk and vmx file from physical PC with vm vcenter converter.

*it seems that vcenter converter doesn't support fusion 7. So, I created fusion 6 file.

And, I tried to replay their files with fusion 7, but their files are  gray out and I never choose them.

Do anyone know why I cannot open my vm files on fusion 7?

Hi,

Could you please upload the vm files created by Fusion 6?

And from your screenshot, it seems some files has been missed.

So if data in the related vmdk is very important, suggest to create a custom VM and choose the vmdk you want as the vmdk link to new VM.

Steps in Fusion 7:

Click File in menubar->New->More options->Create a custom virtual machine->Continue->Choose the OS type->Continue->Use an existing virtual disk->Choose virtual disk...->select the vmdk as you want.

Then you can also use the vmdk files in your new VM.

Hope helpful~

FWIW, converting a physical machine always results in a bloated, buggy, unstable VM.  You're always better off building a VM from scratch from original install media.
