How can I get mouse/keyboard response inside Fusion?

Hi,

Am trialling Fusion to run WinXP on a MacBook with OS X 10.4.11. My virtual machine has been converted from Parallels.

So far, so good, except that within Fusion/WinXP I have no mouse or keyboard response.

I note that other threads cover this problem, but no joy so far with the fixes they suggest.

Get a blank response from OS X terminal following "ioreg -l -w 0 | grep -i secureinput".

Any ideas?

Well, the easy but long (as in time) answer is: re-convert from Parallels but uninstall the Parallels Tools first while booted in Parallels.

Here's a thread with two possible solutions, either a registry change or using Remote Desktop (guaranteed but many steps). Credit to Pat Lee.
