Hosts hdd power management while guest makes big data transfer

Hi, In our env the guest - a Linux distro - is often used to make big data transfers.

Source is some partition on usb external storage, destination an other partition on same usb external

or other usb external device.

While this usb external storage device is populated to the guest are any settings to be done in Fusion

in order the hosts hard disk power management does not interfere the transfer?

Or are all measures to be carried out within the host os?

Hi,

If your USB external storage is connected to the linux guest directly (eg. you mounted the USB disk partitions from within the guest) then all of the communication with that disk is done directly from the guest.

However if your host goes to sleep.. then your guest will sleep/suspend too.

Does that help?
