Help with encrypted image linking to bad VMDK.

I have an old VMWare image that I am trying to pull data out of, however it is encrypted, which means even after typing in the password I can not really do anything to the configuration (can not remove drives for example). The issue is that for some reason, the boot drive is listed twice in the configuration, which means when I power it on it fails because the VMDK is in use already (by the same virtual machine). I also can not edit the VMX file, because it is encrypted.

So, does anyone know of a way I can either remove the bad drive from the configuration or mount an encrypted VMDK file under OS X?
