Help with VM transfer

I copied my Windows 10 VM from my old MacBook and pasted it to my new MacBook. When I open the VM the screen is black. Is there any way I can fix this?

Has the VM been properly shut down (not just suspended) on the old host?

In case it has only been suspended, you may try to reset the VM's power state, by e.g. deleting its .vmss file.

Note: You'll have to CTRL-Click the VM's .vmwervm bundle to view the files.

Which version of macOS is this (Catalina?) and which version of VMware Fusion?

FWIW on macOS Catalina and any version before VMware Fusion 11.5 you might see this.

VMware Fusion 11.5 is a free upgrade for VMware Fusion 11.x users.

If you want to use Fusion 11.x (or earlier) then you'll have to allow screen recording privileges.

This is only easy to do with Fusion 11.x
