Help upgrading Windows 7 to Windows 10 on my Mac running Fusion 8.5.10

I've run Windows 7 on Fusion for years. Now that support for 7 is closing for some key applications I use, I need to update. I've searched like crazy and cannot find the smoothest and easiest way to migrate from Windows 7 to 10. I want to keep all the Windows settings, documents, applications and such from my current Fusion Windows 7 machine. All I can seem to find is suggestions to create a new virtual machine, but nothing I find tells me how to take a current virtual machine and move to a new OS.

I suppose I also need to know if I need to upgrade to the most recent version of Fusion as well...

Hi,

Please see this similar question:

In addition to that make sure that your hardware works with the newer version from VMware Fusion.
