Hi,
when I try to open a web link my XP VM wants to open it with my Mac browser.
I have the option 'Allow vm to open applications" set to off. I have restored defaults on the deault apps dialog, rebooted but still it tries to open with Mac instead of IE.
Just answered myself. I used the 'set program access and defaults' from the XP VM and set all to M$S.
Working.
wow, wait, where is this option? I'm having the exact opposite problem and I really need to know where this switch is.
I'm trying to create a Berlin-wall between OS X and Windows XP, because it does this stupid thing where it tries to open raw text files with Notepad (windows) even thought TextEdit (OS X) could EASILY open them without the wait or battery-life murdering.
Two things: Disable application sharing in the virtual machine's Settings, and reset the default application handler for (in your case) text files. You can do the latter by doing a Get Info on a text file in the Finder, changing the handler to TextEdit, and applying it to all applications. Alternately, use something like RCDefaultApp
