Suddenly I have lost my Mapped drive to my Mac.
I used to be able to type
MacHawk and It would show me Everything under my User name, Rich, now suddenly it is telling me that It can't find
MacHawk.
I have a mapped drive "M:" to the Macs Documents folder and it can't connect either.
ANybody have nay ideas???
Can't anybody help
Is the shared folder still connected? Can you access it at
.host\Shared Folders\?
If I type that in explorer, I get a window but if I try to create a file there I get an error: Unable to create the file... Unable to find the the file specified. Same thing if I try to drag.
This worked fine before. This was originally a Parellels VM, Since the conversion It worked great, and after 2 weeks I bought the License.
This is maddening!
Rich
I never mentioned, the Guest VM is Win XP Pro...
BTW I can drag from the Mac to the VM OK, and Back the other direction too.

You cannot create shared folders in the guest (once a folder is shared, though, you can create subfolders if you have permissions). If you're not seeing anything there it sounds like you didn't actually get the shared folder working. Did you enable both the global shared option and the specific shared folder? If you've done this and it still doesn't work, please post the .vmx.
This was working, but how do I check if it's enabled. I can map a drive but can't create a folder in it.
I'm a programmer so you can get technical on me.
Rich
Under settings in VMWare it says shared folders are enabled.
Here is the vmx file:

Looks like you never added a shared folder. I would expect to see something like
sharedFolder0.present = "TRUE"
sharedFolder0.enabled = "TRUE"
sharedFolder0.hostPath = "/some/path/here"
sharedFolder0.guestName = "somename"
(plus some other stuff) somewhere in the vmx. To do this, in the Settings, click the plus button and choose to Add Shared Folder...
Thanks, That worked, but what else is wrong????
Thanks Again
Rich

What do you mean? What worked and what's still broken?
"(plus some other stuff) somewhere in the vmx"
That's all, was there another problem.
Rich
For the benefit of anyone else who might come across this thread later, can you detail what you did?
