Hi all,
Does anyone know the solution to accessing the
.hosts\ after joining my vm vista to the windows domain?
It appears to know be completely unaccessible.
Cheers,
CW
Hi,
Thanks for bringing this issue to our attention.
It is a recently reported bug and a potential fix is currently being tested.
It should be addressed in WS 6.0.1 release due out in a couple of months.
Thanks.
As for Fusion releases, I am not sure which release this will make it into as
it depends on when the fix is completed.
Has there been any progress on this front? Not being able to do this is a MAJOR disappointment
This issue has been addressed and will be in the next release of fusion when you upgdrade the tools (shared folders).
Our apologies for not having this issue addressed earlier.
Thanks.
Steve
Furthermore, the issue is also fixed in the WS 6.0.1 release.
Wow. That was quick.
When might we see the next release? Is it going to be timed to happen around the release of Leopard or sooner than that?
I have created an SMB share and am doing the IP address tap dance whenever I go to a new DHCP location so I'd be happy to beta test it
This issue is fixed internally and we are working on how it will be released publicly.
As soon as we have more details, we will let people know.

Is there any news on this please?
I have a similar issue.
Running VMware Workstation 6.0.0 build 45731
My host OS is Windows Vista Ultimate on a HP NC6400 with 4gb RAM
My guest OS is Windows Vista Business
I have my internal NIC which is not bridged to the Guest.
I have a Dlink USB NIC with only has the VMware Bridge Protocol enabled and is bridged to the guest. This is the only NIC enabled for the guest.
Shared Folders were working briefly yesterday but now are not.
I did add the machine to the domain but am not sure if this coincided with when they stopped working.
Are there any Vista specific settings I need to enable? i.e. Network and File sharing? I have tried various combinations of settings with no success.
I do not want to enable VMNET1 and use standard windows shares as I would like to have an air gapped machine as far as possible.
Any assistance welcome
Kind regards
Tim
