Has vmware abandoned support for Big Sur on both intel & Mac m1

No, Fusion 12 supports Big Sur as both the host OS or as a guest OS, there’s no support currently for the M1 though.

The "platform" part in "Platform Status" is about the Forum software platform
A bit of a confusing name considering that VMware also uses platforms in a different way.

Sadly VMware cannot make any statements about progress on their M1 support due to them being a publicly traded company. As such we'll have to wait until a beta becomes available.
