When a VM is configured to directly started in full screen mode the toolbar is not accessible anymore. See attached screenshot. It gets hidden behind the menu bar and nothing can be reached. Not a bummer but makes it harder to reach controls of the VM.
To get the toolbar back you have to exit and re-enter full screen.
Anyone else having this problem? Happens with Fusion 12.1.0
We're aware of this one, it happens on all of my Big Sur systems, but not all the time. I love bugs like that... =/
Hi,
Haven't seen that before.
What is the host running? Big Sur?
ah..right.. I do see this on Big Sur with Fusion 12.1
Try the following.
In the View menu -> Hide Toolbar
OK.. now it is really gone 😉
Again in teh View menu -> Show Toolbar
and then the toolbar is there again, but it is part of the window decoration.
eg.
hope this helps,

Thanks, @wila ,
that works. But only until the VM is stopped and started again.
is there a way to report such bugs? Would be nice if VMware can fix this in one of the next releases.
Cheers!

Hi,
Just letting you know that it's also happening on my Fusion installation.
MacOS Big Sur 11.1
VMware Fusion 12.1.0
The VMware toolbar doesn't appear when running a VM in full screen. The only way to restore the toolbar is by going to view-hide toolbar then view-show toolbar.
Any idea when a fix will become available?
