Fusion stuck while "restoring state"

My VM gets to about 90% on the progress bar and just freezes. It progresses normally from 0-90 but once there it just stops and will sit there for an hour or more.

I have VM Ware Fusion Version 2.0 (116369)

Running Windows XP Pro

on a Macbook Pro 2.4 Core 2 Duo w/ 4 Gig of ram.

The macbook keyborad stoped responding earlier today and I had to shut down via the power button for 5 seconds trick. When I got back up and tried to resume the machine this is what happend.

Your suspend state is probably truncated (likely due to the hard power failure). Quit Fusion, then see my posts in (ignore the bit about logs, the relevant part is the .vmss).
