Fusion shutting down when USB plugged in..........

Hi,

I hope I'm in the right area here. First time looking for help with VMWare Fusion - it's been rock solid for well over a year.

Anyway, as of a couple weeks ago, every time I plug in the Garmin 405

usb stick I get the light gray screen telling me that I have to hold

the power button down to completely shutdown my Macbook.

Up until then, I had been using this USB stick flawlessly.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance............and again, I apologize if this isn't the correct forum.

Are you running 10.5.6? We're tracking several reports similar to this, and have traced it to a bug in 10.5.6 which causes kernel panics when some USB devices are used. We've reported it to Apple, and they've acknowledged it as a duplicate of bug 6462681. Hopefully they'll fix it at some point in an update.

Any idea when this will get resolved? Causing quite a few issues for me.

Thanks!

If I understood Eric correctly this is an Apple Bug and VMware has no influence over Apple in this regard so you should be asking Apple when they plan to fix their bug not VMware.
