Hi,
I have just installed OS 10.10 and when I try to open fusion I get a dialog box stating that this version does not work with the current OS. Any suggestions? Are there any fusion betas that I can use? I have fusion 6.0.3 installed.
Best regards,
Hasan Rahman

No, it is not officially supported on OS X 10.10 Yosemite. AFAIK Only VMware Fusion 7 is officially supported on OS X 10.10 Yosemite. It also not officially supported on OS X 10.9 Mavericks!
I'm running Fusion 6.0.4 on my Late 2013 15" "Retina" MacBook Pro. I just upgraded my host Mac OS to Yosemite (via "install in place.") Now, when I run my Win 7 VM in full-screen mode, there are reproducible graphics artifacts that bedevil me; e.g., when I push my cursor to the top of the screen, the screen "flashes." I've not found a definitive statement as to whether Fusion 7 resolves this issue.
If I download the Fusion 7 Trial, can I run it or Fusion 6 to test whether my issues are resolved? Does running the Fusion 7 trial change my VM file so that I cannot return to Fusion 6 if the graphics anomalies are not expunged by the new version? Can sales help me with this question if the Community cannot?
Thanks so much,
Jim
I have a very similar issue as MacNephDoc. I am running a Windows 7 guest in Fusion 7.0.1 on a Late 2013 Retina MacBook Pro. If I run the Windows VM in a window all is well the guest and the host both function fine. BUT, if I run the VM in Full Screen then my rMBP will completely hang within 10 minutes.
No sign of a fix at this point...

I guess I should consider myself lucky. I get the graphics anomalies, but I can keep running without the system crashing.
I've been wondering whether it's possible to download the "trial" (unlicensed) version of Fusion 7.0.1, see if that obliterates the anomalies, but return to Fusion 6 (I learned today there is a 6.0.5, but updating 6.0.4 -> 6.0.5 didn't help) if Version 7 doesn't do any better.

You can install Fusion 6 and Fusion 7 side-by-side:
1) Rename /Applications/VMware Fusion.app to /Applications/VMware Fusion 6.app
2) Make sure Fusion 6 is not running.
3) Install Fusion 7 normally
4) Rename /Applications/VMware Fusion.app to /Applications/VMware Fusion 7.app
Then you can run /Applications/VMware Fusion 6.app or /Applications/VMware Fusion 7.app, but ONLY ONE AT A TIME (i.e. you must Quit one version if you want to run the other version).
Actually, Fusion does not like when you rename it while it is running. So here are the steps in the right order:
1) Make sure Fusion 6 is not running.
2) Rename "/Applications/VMware Fusion.app" to "/Applications/VMware Fusion 6.app".
3) Install Fusion 7 normally.
4) Quit Fusion 7.
5) Rename "/Applications/VMware Fusion.app" to "/Applications/VMware Fusion 7.app".
YES - 6.0.3 will not work - here is the work-around for licensed users:
OK Install the 6.0.4 version available from downloads
it will offer an upgrade to 6.0.5
UPGRADE to 6.0.5
Upgrade your tools to use the V10 hardware.
Good Luck
I'm just upgraded to MacOSX 10.10.4 and can confirm that VMWare Fusions 7.1.2 does NOT work on it.
Everything was working find before i upgraded. After the upgrade when I try to start the VM I get the error, "internal error." or "Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to."
I've uninstalled VMware Fusion and reinstalled it... Not change. Same problem.
Try reinstalling the 10.10.4 upgrade using the combo updater (google for the link from apple), then repair permissions in disk utility.
