Fusion itself (not VM) is very slow on startup

My Windows VM boots (no boot camp), runs and shuts down very quickly, absolutely no complaints there.

I'm working on a fast Macbook with 16GB of RAM and an SSD, so I guess this helps a lot.

However, simply starting up the Fusion application takes like 2-3 minutes!

What's going on?

Does someone have an idea?

Many thanks for the help,

Kris

Hey Kris,

This very isolates that its with the application. Was this an upgrade from the previous version? Try manually uninstalling Fusion : VMware KB: Manually uninstalling VMware Fusion

-Once uninstalled, run repair disk permissions. Open Finder >Applications >Utilities >Disk Utility >Select your Mac hard drive >Click on repair disk permissions.

-Restart the Mac and install Fusion.

Hope this helps,

Kumar

Does unchecking VMware Fusion > Preferences > Automatically check for updates affect the start-up speed?
