Fusion hangs on launch on big sur 11.1 on imac (but not macbook)

Very odd,

Has worked fine, but today won't launch. Just hangs after I double click on the icon.

Tried rebooting, no better.

Tried reinstalling, no better.

Meanwhile on the same OS it works fine on my macbook. So puzzling.

Perhaps I should try removing the previous version, libraries etc and try reinstalling. Any other thoughts?

Only interesting thing I find in console are these messages:

[pbgalvin1 · Accepted solution]

Oddly enough, leaving vmware "hung" and not killing it resulted in it finally starting about 5 minutes later.
