Fusion 8 very slow.

I have a new installation of Windows 10 and Fusion 8.1. Everything runs correctly and I am only using this to be able to run the latest version of Paint Shop Pro X8.  The speed (or lack thereof) makes the program useless.  Is there any to speed things up?

Macbook Air (mId 2013), 1.3Ghz processor, 4G ram

El Capitan 10.11.1

The virtual machine is configured for 1 processor and 1024MB RAM (which it says is recommended)

Thanks for using Fusion. 

Which Win10 version are you using? 32bit or 64bit? If you used 64-bit, you can assign 2 cores and 2048 MB ram to VM.

Here's what Microsoft says you need to run Windows 10:

Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster

RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)

My setup is 32bit.  I have 3 gig free ram so I could kick that up some.
