I have a strange problem that I can't figure out. My host system is a Macbook Pro with OSx 10.9.4. I have two guest Server 2012R2 machines.
Scenario 1: Both VMs are set to use Bridged network, both get proper IP from my home router and able to reach the internet, etc. I can ping other physical computers on the network. The issue is can't ping each other.
Scenario 2: Both VMs are set to use Host Only network, both get proper IP and on the same subnet. The issue is neither one can ping each other.
Scenario 3: Both VMs are set to use NAT, both get proper IP and on the same subnet, both can reach the internet. Neither one can ping each other.
Basically Guest to Host communication works fine with any network set up, but Guest to Guest does not. I tried rebooting my Mac and reinstalling Fusion 7 multiple times, no luck,
Any suggestions where to look next? Thanks!
Check if ICMP traffic is allowed between the two guests, cause the default configuration of Windows Server 2012 R2 is to deny.
You can easily make a test only disabling the Windows firewall on both VMs.

I feel stupid, LOL. The network was set to "Private" not "Public" so I guess that's not enough in 2012R2. What threw me off was that I tested Ubuntu earlier as well but I think the same thing happened. Thanks for a simple solution!
