Fusion 7.1.1 Internal Error

I upgraded my Mac's HD to an SSD and also upgraded OSX to 10.14.6. I downloaded and installed Fusion 7.1.1, but now if I try to start a virtual machine I get the Internal Error message. I was going to install Win7-64 as a guest OS, but didn't make it. Compatibility guide says there are compatibility. Any suggestions?

According to this,
https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2088571

For Fusion 7.x, the latest macOS X host supported is Yosemite OS X 10.10.x
The "Fusion 11.1.1 and earlier" column is confusing. It was probably meant to convey Fusion 11.0.x - 11.1.1. If it were to mean Fusion 11.1.x, 11.0.x. 10.x, 9.x, and so on earlier the "Yes" should have been filled up all the way to the right.

Hey, thanks for your reply.
Yes, I saw this table earlier. I was in doubt because before the HD substitution I was running Fusion under El Capitan (one after Yosemite) and without any problems.
Now I’m in trouble because if I can only update to Fusion 12, then I will have also to upgrade OSX to Catalina. This is not in my plans right now.

Keep in mind starting with VMware Fusion 10.x, a lot of the older Mac kit could not run VMs as the Intel CPU in these older models does not have a virtualisation feature called VMX Unrestricted Guest. Apple for its part also no longer supports certain Mac hardware models for certain macOS versions; for that you can search the appropriate Apple webpage. So there is some dance with Apple hardware models, macOS versions, and VMware Fusion versions.

You can also refer to this KB for VMware Fusion requirements although the very first step should be to confirm from the Apple website Apple support of macOS version vis-a-vis Mac hardware model.
