Hi all,
I'm using Fusion 5.04 on a mid 2012 rMBP 15" with Windows 8.1 installed in Bootcamp.
A couple of weeks ago I imported Bootcamp as a vm in Fusion.
Within 2 days of using the Bootcamp vm I attempted to boot the actual Bootcamp installation and booting failed.
Having booted back in to OSX (Mavericks) I fired up gdisk and, to my horror, I saw that the hybrid MBR had suddenly become a protective MBR. No wonder Bootcamp wouldn't boot.
Anyway, I put it down to "whatever" and created a new hybrid MBR with gdisk and all was well again.
Just now, after firing up the Bootcamp vm almost every day since then, I decided to boot the actual Bootcamp installation to test a few performance figures and guess what!
Windows wouldn't boot.
After booting back in to OSX again and firing up gdisk I discover, yet again, that my hybrid MBR has become a protective MBR again.
This is definitely not user error. This seems to be caused by Fusion, but I have no idea how it could cause it.
I will manually re-create the hybrid MBR again and Windows will boot - I have no doubt, but I don't want to have to do this every time I boot the Bootcamp partition after using the vm.
Has anybody seen anything similar?
Any ideas?
Thanks
