Fusion 4.0 2560x1920 narrower then 2560x1600

I just installed Fusion 4.0. When I extend my Windows 7 Desktop to my Apple 27" LED monitor the 2560x1920 resolution doesn't fill the screen as it did with Fusion 3. I am using 2560x1600 as a work around but that leaves an inch and a half of black space on both sides of my desktop. Oddly the width of the desktop is narrower with the 2560x1920 resolution than it is with the 2560x1600. That doesn't seem right ;-).

Is there something I need to configure differently with 4.0 to get full screen on the 27"? Is there an issue with 2560x1920 with 4.0?

For the record no such issues on the native MacBook Pro 17 inch mid-2010 laptop and LED screen. It has the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512MB graphics. I am running Lion 10.7.1 (11826)

Apple has never made a 2560 by 1920 display. The 30" Cinema Display had the largest pixel dimensions of any display they have shipped at 2560 by 1600. The 27" panels used in the 27" Cinema Display, the 27" Thunderbolt Display, and the 27" iMac are all 2560 by 1440.

The reason 2560 by 1600 has black bars to the sides is that VMware is scaling the virtual screen to fit on the physical screen. The reason 2560 by 1920 is even narrower is that it needs to be scaled down more to fit the higher vertical pixel dimensions.

Thank you for your assistance. It sounds like I have the resolution specifications backwards. However, I remain confused as to why the my Windows 7 VM extended to the full Apple LED screen with Fusion 3.x and now doesn't extend with Fusion 4.0. I would think this Apple only configuration would have been targeted by VMware for supportability.

This issue seemed to resolve itself because I am now getting full screen on my VM. I am not aware of changing anything. Thanks again for people's assistance.
